Cut Copy - Out There On The Ice

Thanks! I'll keep this all in mind and next on my list! I've read Ilustrado for a class. It actually turned out really nice and quite funny at times too. Although at first, it might sound too profound because of all the background and history of the character but eventually you'll get past that and appreciate it especially on how it's written intelligently by this one person. You'll be amazed how one person can think and write in so many different ways. I'm planning to read it again and enjoy the book sans all the information I had to absorb for the objective exam we had for that subject. Looking for Alaska's also on my list. I found a copy at Fully Booked but I gave it as a present. It's hard to find that one, I had it reserved months prior to my friend's birthday. As for A Million Little Pieces, it's a jackpot found on Book Sale! So far, I'm liking it. Since it talks about a recovery of an addict, there are some parts of the book wherein I can't help but hold certain parts of my body since my mind is imagining all the pain. Lol.
Haha

Thanks! I truly appreciate book suggestions as my knowledge about all things literary/literaychoor is zilch.

I’m really on the fence about Illustrado. I heard it was great but they say it’s very hard to get through at first. I’m scared that I won’t get past the unreadable parts and would just put the book down forever because I have an attention span of a teaspoon. It’s really a shame that I’m having a very difficult time appreciating very literary/”serious” works (or books I only read because it’s a required reading). Nosebleed festival. But of course, I need to grow up. So yeah. I will put this on my to-read list (serious books edition) which would happen hopefully next year. And by that time I hope I’d be a better reader.

Looking for Alaska, of course the book du jour, is on my to-read list. I have an e-book! Yay! I’ll read it next after my current book! So excited. Twitter and Tumblr love this like they love JGL and Zooey.

A Million Little Pieces - I’ve read and heard about this book a lot of times (praises, criticisms, Oprah debacle and all) and I’m definitely intrigued. I hope I can stumble upon it on Booksale (90% of my books are from Booksale)!

And oh, I forgot to tell you how amazing The Book Thief is.

Oh yeah there will always be that one motherfucker.

Funny, my friend just recommended me that book you’re reading.
I’ve enjoyed all those books but if I really have to choose, read Never Let Me Go first only because there’s a movie coming up. It could be a little slow burn but I love the characters so much. And yes, very depressing. It reminds me of how sad Atonement is (the movie, I have yet to read the book, they said it’s equally as devastating).
Hunger Games and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo are a pleasure to read. There’s no fat amount of convincing myself to finish those two, literally page turners. My Custom Van is a collection of funny essays by Michael Ian Black. It’s probably something you’d expect if you know his comedy. Very silly and hilarious although sometimes it might feel a bit repetitive. Great for toilet reading!  Scott Pilgrim is love . I haven’t read the 6th book because I’m saving it for depressing times. I struggled with Of Mice and Men (because of the Southern accented dialogues) and Para Kay B (I feel like reading a soap opera) but both ended satisfactorily.
So far, I haven’t read a book that I truly despise. I can’t wait to hate a book.

Books Read in August

  1. Scott Pilgrim 5
  2. The Hunger Games
  3. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
  4. The Book Thief
  5. Never Let Me Go
  6. Of Mice and Men
  7. My Custom Van
  8. Para Kay B

Putting this in here so I can’t forget.

My goal is to read 25 books* this year but I decided to increase it to 50. Such an intimidating task for someone like me who rarely reads a book. And I just started last month. So wish me luck.

AMC’S The Walking Dead Official Trailer

This is MAJOR MAJOR you guys! Watch it!

What is the most vindictive thing you've ever done? And what three qualities do you look for in a potential spouse?

Thank you sir for that wonderful, marvelous, and fantastic question. But before anything else, Mabuhay Miss Universe! And hello people of the world!

And yes I love you too Donald!

Back to the question, I beliebe, *coughs*, I BELIEVE that the most vindictive thing I’ve ever done, in the world, in this wonderful planet where I was born, is joining this prestigious pageant. Yes. Ladies and Gentlemen. Joining this pageant!

Back to my beautiful land of the Philippines, people are telling me that I can’t do it. They tell me that I don’t look the part. That I’m too fat. That I’m too poor. That I am too hairy. And that I can’t possibly represent our country to join Miss Universe because of the fact that there’s a cock and balls in between my legs. BUT I did it! I DID IT ladies and gentlemen. I’m here standing in front of you answering your question with pride and telling you all that I am representing the amazing 7107 islands of our great nation, with BALLS PEENS AND ALL. Mabuhay ang TITENG Pilipinas!

To answer your second difficult yet wonderful question, I just want to say, Can you repeat your question again?

Ah okay. I truly truly appreciate it! Especially that I’m the only one you asked with two questions. I’m not irritated at all sir. Not at all.

The first quality I’m looking for my potential spouse is the fact that she’s okay with me being a beauty queen. I mean Jesus Christ, can she handle that her husband is a Miss Universe candidate who just won best Photogenic and Evening Gown. No sir, I don’t want an insekyora. Second of all, no diva please. There’s only one room for a diva in a relationship. And of course that’s me. And last but not the least but can be the least because nothing can’t top the previous two, she should be size 4! So we can share our clothes. Hard times, you know, these days.

I. THANK. YOU. Mabuhay ang Miss Universe! And I love you all!
